Your crew sets a checkout time (8 PM out of the box; a solo hunter is a crew of one). Miss it with no check-out and Ember works a ladder: a push to you, then a text and an automated call to you, then a voice call to your emergency contacts and a push to your crew's admins. Ember checks on the hour, so each step can take up to an hour. Lost signal? Your check-in sends the moment your phone reconnects. Your position leaves your phone only when you press SOS, and it goes only to the people that alert reaches: your emergency contacts, your crew's admins, and anyone checked in on the same property, while the alert is open. While you're checked in, your crew sees which stand you're at on the shared map, not a live position. There is no track log.
