Are these hunting tools free?
Yes. Every tool here is free and needs no sign-up. They run in your browser and compute for the location and date you pick.
How accurate are the sunrise, sunset, and moon times?
Sun and moon positions are computed with the astronomy-engine library (VSOP87 and NOVAS), accurate to about one arcminute and matching the U.S. Naval Observatory convention. Times are shown in the location’s own time zone.
What is legal shooting light?
For game animals, most states let you hunt from one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset. The Legal Light tool shows that window for your county and the day you pick, with the state rule and its source.
Do the tools work for my state?
The sun and moon tools work anywhere in the United States. Shooting-hours rules are verified state by state; where a state’s rule isn’t verified yet, the tool shows sunrise and sunset and links you to the agency instead of guessing a legal window.
